Gluten-Free Sample Saturday

Saturday, May 17, 2025
from Noon to 4:00 p.m.

There’s something magical about the smell of fresh-baked cookies—and this Sample Saturday is going to make our store smell amazing.

Join us for GF Sugar Cookie Sample Saturday, featuring warm, soft-baked, gluten-free sugar cookies from one of our favorite local brands—Mrs. Hewitt’s. If you’ve never tasted her cookies, this is your chance to fall in love. If you have, then you already know what to expect: sweet, buttery goodness with just the right amount of softness.

Yes, they’re gluten-free—and yes, they’re that good.

This is one of our most-requested brands, and we’re so excited to feature it in-store as part of our Sample Saturday series.

🍪 About Mrs. Hewitt’s Gluten-Free

Mrs. Hewitt’s is a Utah-based gluten-free bakery known for their incredible breads, soft-baked cookies, brownies, and baking mixes. Everything is crafted in a dedicated gluten-free facility using carefully selected ingredients to create treats that taste just as good—if not better—than traditional recipes. Their sugar cookies are a customer favorite for good reason: they have the flavor and texture you crave, with none of the gluten.

We love supporting this local brand because:

> Their treats are family-friendly and allergy-aware.

> They make living gluten-free feel joyful, not restrictive.

> They’re committed to clean, simple ingredients.

We’ll be sampling the sugar cookies, but we also carry the bread, brownies, cornbread mix, focaccia, pancake mix, and more—all from Mrs. Hewitt’s gluten-free line. Feel free to ask us about the other items in stock!

Herb Walk with Melanie

July 17th
Meet at: Melanie’s Health & Nutrition
Time: Please arrive by 5:45 PM—we’ll begin promptly at 6:00
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours
Cost: $30 per person

Ever wonder what’s growing under your feet—or above your head—that can be used to support your health?

On this guided herb walk, you’ll learn to identify some of the most common (and often overlooked) plants in our area, like yellow dock, plantain, dandelion, and mallow. We’ll also cover how to recognize different types of pine trees—and which ones are best suited for herbal use.

This is a hands-on, practical way to deepen your herbal knowledge, ask questions, and gain more confidence using herbs you can actually find near home.

 What to Bring:
Comfortable walking shoes
A water bottle
Notebook (optional—but helpful!)
Your curiosity and love for nature
